Contigo Catering Takes SXSW

Contigo Catering Takes SXSW

The week of SXSW was a busy and exciting week for us at Contigo Catering, as it was our first!
We showcased a variety of food for our friends at Visa, Mashable, Buzzfeed, and Neiman Marcus. Check out what we were up to that week searching the tag #SXSWcontigodays, and make sure to follow us on Instagram!

Visa was in town to promote their Visa Check Out with a series of events they called #everydaylounge. We were there on their opening night mixing up drinks including The Decker, named after celebrity host Brooklyn Decker, who was also there. Guests feasted on our corn dogs and beer mustard, zucchini topped with smoked tomatoes and relish, and pickled golden beets on country pate. We did a few bloody mary bars with them that week and served a couple brunches. Our partner and executive chef at Contigo Austin, Andrew Wiseheart was on site shucking oysters for an intimate lunch at Brew & Brew the next day.

Mashable made their mark by bringing even more weirdness to the city. Some of the more interesting things they had were Kim K’s booty wallpaper and Katy Perry’s Super Bowl lion. We provided speakeasy bar service for their party, tucked in an unassuming alleyway turned venue, mixing up Nor’eastern cocktails with bourbon, lime, maple and ginger brew and more craft cocktails.

Buzzfeed hosted an interactive event and we set up a bar for them for their #BFFClubhouse event on Rainey Street. On Monday they partnered with Visa with their Lessons From Buzzfeed event back at Studium as CEO Jonah Peretti shared some insights. We served brunch that day, which included fried green tomato, cucumber, parmesan, arugula and chili aioli appetizer and a delicious bacon hash with poached egg.

Neiman Marcus definitely made some noise as they came into town with a panel of bold, inspiring women and up and coming artists with a series of events on Rainey Street. There were discussions about women empowerment and gender roles at their #nmmakesomenoise events. We were there to serve deviled eggs and salmon, and mixed up some drinks during panels and musical acts for 3 days.

We spent a lot of time downtown, loved every second of it and can’t wait for next year.
